Alka Mahapatra is a UX designer and researcher and an accessibility advocate. She is passionate about creating intuitive, inclusive, and human-centered digital experiences. With a background spanning sportswear design, graphic design and UX, she has worked across industries including fashion, eCommerce, accessibility, and sustainability. Currently pursuing a Master’s in UX Research & Design at the University of Michigan, Alka is refining her skills in user research, service design, and accessibility-driven innovation. She believes in the power of technology to bridge gaps—whether between generations, cultures, or abilities. Beyond design, she enjoys weight training, exploring cognitive psychology, and advocating for sustainable practices. Alka’s journey is driven by curiosity and a commitment to making technology more accessible for all. Whether designing for emerging markets, senior citizens, or the next generation of digital experiences, she seeks to create solutions that are not just usable but meaningful.
